General Information: One of the most collectible
of all Daum's designs from the 1980's, this replica of Lindbergh's
Spirit of Saint Louis is exquisite in its detailing and by far the
most complex of any piece they made. Designed by Xavier Froissart,
and in constant demand by both Daum collectors and Lindbergh collectors,
it is rare
to find
an unblemished
piece for sale. The most fragile part of the whole plane is the propeller,
which is easilly broken, especially in shipping. If you are lucky
enough to find this piece, please be sure it is packed carefully
for shipping. It is currently thought that worldwide, Daum only made
250 Spirit of St. Louis airplanes, and it is known that many of these
were received
by Daum US and its retailers in already broken condition (propeller
of course!), and were thrown away. So the actual number of unblemished
pieces in the world is probably around 100 pieces. This makes the
Spirit an ultra rare piece.
